About Us
Welcome to Strings Together. We're an orchestral group that provides opportunities for adults wishing to learn to play in an orchestra, led by two very experienced tutors, Sinan Kadifachi and Susanna Wilson. We welcome anyone wanting to work on their orchestral playing skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.
We primarily play classical music, with everything from baroque to contemporary so it is very varied. At Christmas we also add in a few carols! We work towards an end of term performance which provides the opportunity to practice playing in front of others. Our concerts are informal gatherings of family and friends, usually with a mix of in person and Zoom participants and spectators.
We offer orchestral playing in person and online. For those who live near to East London, we meet in person on Tuesday evenings at Bow Road Methodist Church for a skills session followed by orchestral ensemble playing.
For those who would prefer to join us from the comfort and convenience of your own home, you can join the skills session and ensemble playing online on Tuesday evenings.
Our group has a mix of abilities from Grades 1-7 standard. We recommend that people joining are at least around Grade 1 ABRSM/Trinity standard (more advanced players are very welcome). If you are not yet Grade 1 but wish to join us, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your specific learning requirements.
